The Mail on Sunday leads on an exclusive with the son of late billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed saying his father “pretended” to have dementia to avoid being prosecuted over allegations of sexual abuse. Omar Fayed told the paper “he got off the hook on the grounds he was mentally incapacitated” but was really “as sharp as a tack”. The former Harrods owner died before facing any charges relating to multiple allegations made against him. Harrods’ new owners have said they were appalled by the allegations and have been investigating since 2023 whether any current members of staff were involved.
